Stockport Metro swimmers aged 13-17 competed at Scottish National Synchro Championships on 25th & 26th October. All of the girls had an amazing weekend scoring highly in figures and routines. Coaches Sara Dixon and Cheryl Richmond could not have been prouder seeing how highly they scored in their age groups.
On Saturday the girls all competed individually in figures, all scoring well. Megan Crew Meaney and Sophie Freeman qualified for solo's which were swam later that day. Megan gained 12th place in the 15 plus age group and Sophie 6th in the 13/14's. Both gave it their all and executed technically difficult and highly artistic routines to the delight of all their supporters and coaches. Sophie and Ashley Pearson also qualified to swim their duet and were placed in 5th place following a brilliant swim.
On Sunday Megan and Niamh Hanly qualified for and swam a lovely duet and finished in 9th place. The weekend achievements grew even further when it got to the team events! The 13/14 competitive team, Lucy Elliott, Ashley Pearson, Victoria Hartley and Sophie Freeman swam to Glenn Miller showing some complex figures and lifts along with great artisitic impression and finished in 3rd place! The open competitive team, Megan Crew Meaney, Niamh Hanly, Robyn Neale, Clidna Bailey Doyle, Charlotte McDowell and Roisin Mooney did the best swim their coaches had ever seen and also finished in 3rd place after showing some really technically difficult figures and lifts and great solo's from Megan and Clidna and duets from Megan and Roisin and Niamh and Clidna.
