There was a unique relay at Life Leisure Grand Central on Saturday 4th May 2019, where former Stockport Metro swimmer (and current Masters Coach) Harry Needs organised a team to set a new Guinness World Record for the 100 x 50m relay.

The event raised money for the “The Mind Charity”, which helps support people suffering from mental health, raising awareness and understanding of issues related to mental health.

The record attempt raised has raised over £3,000 to date, and if you’d like to donate you can do so here: Harry Needs Virgin Money Giving.

The time to beat was 46:38 and the 100 swimmers (almost half of whom were either current or former Stockport Metro swimmers and/or coaches) smashed it with a time of 43:32.36.
